Good luck with your project, this has been sorely needed for some time. And please keep it open and not able to be manipulated, in contrast with the other offering.

POSITIVE STUFF:

This year’s Slow festival Paragliding Comp (22nd – 28 April) was slightly different from previous years.
It wasn’t about the drinks after flying, it wasn’t about the “Goodie Bags” that were handed out, and it wasn’t about the lucky draws or the prize giving. This year’s comp revolved around one little girl, Dominique du Toit and her family. As we all know by now, Dominique was diagnosed with some brain tumours.

Hence, all our proceeds from the competition went to Dominique and her family.
We managed to raise around R10 000.00 through the comp and from the prize giving/auction. We just want to thank all our sponsors and participants for their support in this cause. Hopefully next year we’ll be able to do it bigger and better with even more entries!

Thanks once again to all who helped out, the list is endless, but you know who you are!

Comp winners:

Overall winner: Theuns Koekemoer (Pretoria)

Men’s Class:
First: Theuns Koekemoer (Pretoria)
Second: Ryan Shear (Sedgefield)
Third: Mark Sofianos (Sedgefield)

Novice Class:
First: Roland de Vries JNR (Sedgefield)
Second: Cobus Potgieter (Sedgefield)
Third: Jules Absillis (Sedgefield)

Ladies:
First: Kerin Trusler (Sedgefield)

Tandem:
First: Deon Borrett (George)
Second: Roland de Vries (Sedgefield)
Third: Jorg Bueble (Sedgefield)

Congrats to all our winners, see you next year.

Well done guys, for sure is this a constructive move to involve all of the Garden Route Para community. We have gone a long way this year to establish a transparent atmosphere on the sites and elsewhere, especially between the commercial operators. Our primary aim is to support build and market local paragliding.
Have fun!!

Hi Guys,
I see there was some effort made with this blog. Well done!

After reading only some mails, I fear we are going backwards again here in the Garden Route. Let’s make an effort that this will not happen again.
Who truly wants other people to laugh about us? That’s probably what happening now in the rest of the country.
I don’t think emails are the appropriate platform to solve such matters.

Why not a blog? I see there are over 150 visitors, but only a few registered?

We need to vote a proper committee in so that we can go ahead now to make progress with what we have started here. Let’s meet up as suggested and go this way.

So long
Jorg
